Ibre Valjean Brazell, age 81 and longtime Vinita resident, died Wednesday January 14, 2009. Valjean was born on August 16, 1927 to Ibre and Hazel (Polley) Brazell in Roosevelt, OK. On April 23, 1968 he was united in marriage to Wanda Lou Black in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They raised four children and moved to Vinita in 1987 where he ran his own carpet cleaning business. Valjean was a strong supporter of A.A. and N.A. He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, telling stories, knife throwing, and working with rocks. Valjean is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and wife Wanda. Survivors include his four children Valerie Williams of Vinita, OK, Patty McCampbell of Albuquerque, New Mexico, John Brazell of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Bruce Brazell. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren including Tiffany Williams, Tabitha Williams, and great granddaughter Kaylin Williams, one brother Glen Brazell of Las Vegas, Nevada, and two sisters Virginia Hambleton of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Anabel Boatright of Socorro, New Mexico.
