Over the years, Ida worked at a beauty shop, the Rexall Drugstore, The Trunk clothing store, and the Nowata office of Eldercare, where she worked until she retired at age 89. Ida was active in many activities and had many, many friends, both in Nowata and Washington counties. She became a member of the Nowata County Extension Homemakers Club in 1937. She was a very active member of the Nowata First United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed bowling and traveled nationwide to participate in bowling tournaments. Her other favorite hobbies included dancing, sewing, gardening and baking. She loved the Nowata County fair and always had entries in several categories.
