Irene Ellington

Irene L. Ellington, age 88, a resident of Forest Manor Nursing Home, passed away on August 12, 2007. Irene LaFaye Cotts was born on August 7, 1919 to Hiram W. and Sarah M. (Vines) Cotts at Ingalls, OK. Irene was united in marriage on November 2, 1935 to Pirdon "Henry" Ellington at Glencoe, Oklahoma. Henry and Irene settled in Dewey, Oklahoma and raised their family. Irene received her education and graduated from Ingalls High School. Irene became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1954. She worked as a nurse and caregiver until the age of 80. Irene loved the lord and was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Claremore. Irene is survived by six children; Iola and Marvin Parsons of Colorado, Tom and Carol Ellington of Illinois, Sharon and Drew Callahan of Bartlesville, Connie (Jeanie) Fuller of Colorado, Mike Ellington of Nebraska and Ed and Lottie Ellington of Claremore. Irene was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous others that loved her and called her "Grandma". Irene will be greeted in heaven by her parents, four brothers and one sister; her husband, "Henry", in August, 1972, two sons, one daughter and four grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday August, 15, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. in the Dewey Cemetery with Pastor J. J. James officiating. Services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
