Grove, OK - Irma Loetta Fowler, 86, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Grove Nursing Center, Grove, Oklahoma. Irma, the only daughter of Phillip and Carrie (Zink) Klopf, was born August 20, 1920 at Pleasant Valley Township, Jo Daviess County, Illinois. On April 25, 1940, she and Herman Beyer were married at Woodbine, Illinois. She and John Archie Fowler were married on November 4, 1978 at Unity Village, Lee's Summit, Missouri. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 23, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Grove Nursing Center, 1503 West Har-Ber Road, Grove, OK. Irma was a talented and a much-loved lady, who enjoyed many activities. Her hobbies included: fishing with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, Keith, Dan, Linda and David; flower gardening, especially with her daughter, Rita; creating designer specialty cakes for family and friends; crocheting; quilting; and many other hand-crafts. She served as President of the Mindenmines, Missouri, Senior Citizen group for many years; as a volunteer crafter at Grove Senior Center, and by visiting local nursing homes to cheer residents with gospel sing-a-longs and to assist with bingo games. She participated in the Grove Kitchen Band and the Grove Garden Club as long as she was able, bringing her much joy. In addition to raising her children, Irma worked as a nurse's aide for many years in Illinois and Missouri; operating boarding homes for senior citizens in both Lamar and Jasper, Missouri; cooked at Barton County Memorial Hospital; worked in the paint department at O'Sullivans Industries; and for the State of Kansas Homemaker Assistance Program, where she received recognition as Outstanding Employee. Survivors include two daughters, Rita Yount-Marks of Grove and Sandra Beyer of Elizabeth, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Ream of Enid, Oklahoma; five step-daughters, Katherine Green and Joyce Deelan, both of Nebraska, Faye McConnell of Florida, Wanda Jones of New Mexico and Esther Jeffries of Washington; a son, Stanley Beyer of Illinois; three step-sisters, Audrey Breed of Alaska, Doris Southworth and Dorothy Schorr, both of Wisconsin; a step-brother, Dan Corr of Minnesota; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchlidren. She is preceded in death by her parents; by both husbands; two brothers, LeRoy and Clifford Klopf; three sons, Herman John, Philip Gary and Vernon Dale Beyer; one step-son, G.W. Fowler; and two great-granddaughters. Cremation and arrangements are by Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
