Iva Burton

December 8, 1923 — February 12, 2009

Iva Lucille Lasure Burton went home to the Lord on February 12, 2009 following an extended illness. She was born December 8, 1923 in Dewey and was married to Richard H. Burton in 1941 in Dewey. She gave her life to raising her children. She loved to sew and made dolls for children throughout the community. She excelled in embroidery and other handwork. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard H. Burton, a granddaughter Kelsey Marie Burton, her brothers Marion "Bud", Rodge, Harry and Jock Lasure, and her sisters, Francie, Anna Midge and Jessie Lasure. She is survived by her children, Richard Lee Burton of Arizona, Jim D. Burton of Hulbert, Donna Crocker of Bartlesville, Linda Edwards of Mannford, Johnny Burton of Tulsa and Christopher Burton of Okesa. Also surviving her are sister, Pauline Spitzer of Barltesville, her grandchildren; Scott Martin and Richard A. Burton of Arizona, Jim Burton II of Hulbert, Scott Burton of Wellston, Tammy Green and Tommy and David Bridges of Bartlesville, Destinee Burton of Tulsa, Jeremy Luster, Billy and Melissa Hailey, Carrlie Pierce, Sonja Pitman, Shannon, Brian and Melissa Edwards, all of Mannford, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Mrs. Burton will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Perry Cox will preside over the services, with interment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
