Jack Lee Johnston, a fifty one year old Vinita resident died Thursday September 30, 2010 at his home. He was born January 18, 1959 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Homer Johnston and Judy Robison Helmick Johnston. Jack was raised in Coffeyville, Kansas and received his education at Coffeyville then graduated from Alleuwe High School. He worked in Pryor at Escoa for seventeen years then began his own cable contracting business at Vinita. Jack was an avid deer hunter & fisherman, and was a huge St. Louis Cardinal fan. Jack was always quick to lend a helping hand to family and friends, he loved to work and loved life. He loved life and fought a two year long illness with Cancer. Jack leaves behind his wife Dawn Johnston of the home, two children, April Johnston of Ketchum, OK and Felicia Johnston of Adair, OK, his mother in law, Mary Moore of Vinita, two grand children, Abby Johnston and Emma Johnston of Ketchum, OK. Memorial services will be Saturday October 2, 2010 at the First Assembly of God in Chelsea at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Allen Dunn officiating. Arrangements are bye Luginbuel Funeral Home.
