Jack Pitts

Jack Ray Pitts passed away Saturday November 27, 2010. Jack was born on was born August 28, 1940. Surviving family members include his wife Lois Nelson Pitts of the home, daughter Kerry Seifried and husband Mike, grand daughter Jessica Shotpouch and husband Kenton, and great granddaughter Shelby Rae Shotpouch, all of Jay, his brother JD Pitts of Cartwright, OK and sister, Betty Burtnett of Jay. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Luther Elza Pitts and Esta Lorraine Bennett - Pitts, brothers Billy Pitts of Moore and Wayne Pitts of Jay, and two children, daughter Meredith Anne and son James Scott Pitts. Jack was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was married to Lois for 52 years, was a wonderful family man and a long time member of the Zena Baptist Church. He was very proud of his family and was especially thrilled when great granddaughter Shelby Rae was born. He and Lois cared for many other children during their marriage. They both loved children. If a neighbor or family member needed help for a few hours or more they were willing and felt blessed by it. Of those blessings Dyllen Hern became a source of pride and caring for Jack. Jack served in the United States Army stationed in Germany for most of his tour and then returned to Jay. He was a long time employee of Union Gas in Jay and Grove. He later began his own company, Pitts Propane and would remain self-employed until his retirement. He will be remembered as hard working and self motivated, but he always had a genuine interest in his customers and made time to visit with them. Graveside Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday December 1, 2010 at Zena Cemetery in Zena, Oklahoma the Reverend Rick Thomas will officiate. A visitation for friends and family will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
