James Armentrout

September 21, 1929 — January 29, 2008

James W. Armentrout, 78 year old longtime Ketchum resident, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, January 29, 2008, in Tulsa. James was born near Blue Eye, MO., on September 21, 1929, to Ella (Perkins) and Orvle Armentrout. HE was married to Mary Frances McKnight on April 30, 1950, I Ketchum. James loved the Lord and his church where he served as Deacon since 1965. He was church treasurer for many years and also led the church choir. He loved to sing bass with a quartet and taught the adult men's Sunday School class. He was an avid camper and enjoyed playing bluegrass music. He was a talented musician, playing fiddle, guitar, mandolin and bass. He rode a motor cycle and was a private pilot. Surviving in the home are his beloved wife Fran and sister-in-law Marie McKnight. Also surviving are; his daughter MaryAnn and son -in-law Hooley Downing; a granddaughter, Sheila Flanagan and grandson-in-law Scott Flanagan; the lights of his life, his great-grandchildren, Scott Logan and September Nicole Flanagan. Other surviving family members include his sisters, Marie Krim and Ruby Peterson; special aunts, Mary Haff and husband Matt and Neoma Wiens and husband Jake; sister-in-law Betty Clark; brother-in-law Frank McKnight and wife "Pill"; brother-in-law, Robert McKnight and Wife MaryAnn; brother-in-law, Raymond McKnight; sister-in-law Carolyn Pool and husband Hugh and brother-in-law Louis McKnight and wife Bobbi. Those preceding him in death were his parents; baby brother Pearl; brother Eugene Armentrout and sisters Elsie Parton and Ruth Berry. The Family will receive friends at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita on Thursday, from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be held at First Southern Baptist Church, Ketchum Oklahoma; on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Reverend Bill Bush and Reverend Kevin Lancaster will officiate.
