James Leslie Campbell, 83 year-old Grove resident died Thursday January 18, 2007, at the Integris Grove Hospital. He was born March 19, 1923 in Tulsa to Clarence Guy and Daisy Lee (Windsor) Campbell. He graduated from Tulsa University in 3 years with Petroleum Engineers B. S. Degree and was a charter member of the Pi Epsilon Tau, Sword and Key, and Phi Gamma Kappa. James was married Doris Mae Mehlin on September 16, 1944, who preceded him in death in 1997. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army 303 Infrantry, from 1943 to 1946 as a Corporal. He worked for the war department in Alaska in 1942 in the engineering office. James retired from Marathon Oil Company in February of 1986, he was a petroleum engineer. James was a member of the Catholic Church, Elks Lodge, where he served as Exulted Ruler and the Petroleum Engineer Club. He had made his home in Grove since 1997 moving here from Houston, Texas. The family includes: his two daughters, Patricia Ann Svoboda and husband Thomas Dale Svoboda of Canyon Lake, Texas, Pamela Lee Campbell of Grove, two grandchildren, Tamra Renee Gullie and husband Matthew of the Philippines, Ashley Campbell Stewart and wife Melissa of LaPorte, Texas, great-grandchildren, Cade Damon Gullie, Kinley Dale Stewart, Parker Campbell Stewart, step great-grandchildren, Haley Hatton and Brooklyn Hatton, also a cousin Jimmy Gaines and wife Vicki of Grove. The Wake Service will be held, Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Worley-Luginbuel Chapel in Grove. Arrangements are by the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
