James Victor "Jimmy" Gottsponer Obituary Vinita, OK - James Victor "Jimmy" Gottsponer, 42, died early Saturday at his home in Vinita, after battling cancer. Jimmy was born September 9, 1964 at Hartford, Connecticut to Edward Adolph Gottsponer and Doris Evelyn (Mehlhorn) Gottsponer. He grew up in Vinita, Oklahoma and was a 1983 graduate of Vinita High School. Jimmy attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M at Miami for one year before getting into restaurant management. His first job was at the Ramada Inn, Mount Vernon, Illinois. Jimmy later moved to Orlando, Florida and then on to the Phoenix/Flagstaff area. He came back to Oklahoma two years ago, before moving to Ft. Worth, Texas to manage a restaurant there. He was most recently employed by Ti Amo's Ristorante Italiano in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jimmy was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church of Vinita. He was a "workaholic", a person who truly enjoyed his job. In his spare time he would go on Christmas Toy Fundraiser Rides with his biker friends and volunteered at soup kitchens during the holidays. Survivors are his parents, Ed and Doris Gottsponer of the home; paternal grandparents, Albert and Josephine Gottsponer of Vinita; a sister, Theresa Bishop of Vinita; two nieces; one nephew and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward A. Gottsponer, on December 19, 2006. Private family services will be held for Jimmy.
