James Allen "Mickey" Haley, 77, died Friday, March 14, 2008 in Vinita, Oklahoma. Mickey was born in Shamrock, Texas on July 31, 1930, to James and William Edna (Blevins) Haley. On July 15, 1948 in Welch Community, OK, James married Betty Lou Mozingo. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2000. Mickey was also preceded in death by eight brothers; Wade, Ralph, John, Homer, Alonzo, Lawrence, Bernice, and Cecil Haley; his daughter, Brenda Jean Haley Matthews and a granddaughter, Brooke Haley. Mickey was employed by C.R. Moore's as an automobile mechanic from 1953 until 1968. In 1968 he opened Haley's Garage in Vinita, OK. where he worked as a self-employed automobile mechanic until his retirement in 1998. Although he was retired, he continued to love working on cars. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing in Grand Lake. Mickey is survived by his two children: Mark Haley and his wife Vicki of Pryor, Oklahoma; Bart Haley and his wife Sharon of Lindale, Texas and his son-in-law, Jim Matthews, of Ketchum, Oklahoma. He is also survived by one brother and four sisters. They are: Ray Haley and wife Ida Bea of Salina, OK; Juanita Williams of Lubbock, TX; Cleta Hopper of Strang, OK; Edna Earl Rice and husband Burl of Salina, OK; Ola Goyer and husband Dale of Inola, OK. He is also survived and will be missed by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Emmanuel Temple in Vinita, Oklahoma. Pastor Roger Wright will preside. Visitation will take place Sunday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Burial at the Ross-Mayes Cemetery in Salina, OK will immediately follow the funeral.
