James Hogue

Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, (918) 256 - 5555 ~ James Thomas Hogue (Jim), of Cleora, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord on September 22, 2015, in Vinita, Oklahoma. Jim was born March 10, 1940, to Charles Craig Hogue and Beulah May (Doan) Hogue, the youngest of their five sons. Jim and his family lived in Hogue "Holler", near Danville, Kentucky, and he graduated from Parksville High School in 1958. After graduation, Jim joined the U. S. Air Force, taking his basic training at Camp Dick Robinson, Kentucky, and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Airman 2nd Cls in 1961. Soon after his military service, Jim became the father of a daughter, who was the pride of his life. Jim became an ironworker and was awarded his journeyman certification in 1967. He was proud and honored to be a member of Ironworkers Local 584, Tulsa, Oklahoma, of which he was a member for 45+ years. He worked out of that Hall and a few others all over the United States on many large and complex projects. He was looked up to by many of his fellow ironworkers and had many friends there. Jim and his wife Sandy were married in Tulsa in 1985 and lived at Keystone Lake for many happy years. Upon his retirement, they moved to Grand Lake and lived in the Gran Tara addition near Cleora, Oklahoma. He took up the game of golf and spent many happy hours golfing at Grand Cherokee Golf Course with his three best friends, Mike Otzelberger, Dick Bassett and Bill Hodges. He was also an avid boat owner and loved living at the lake. He was a member of the Grace Point United Methodist Church, Cleora, Oklahoma. Jim was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Charles, Claude, Lloyd and Herman; and a sister Norma Jean. He is survived by his wife Sandy of the home; his daughter, Rashel Leanne Carnefix (Jack) of Perkins, Oklahoma; sister Laura Jane Sipe (Richard) of Alma, Arkansas; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and close family members Earl and Kathy Royse and Angie White. Funeral services will be Monday, September 28, 2015, at 2 p.m., at Grace Point United Methodist Church in Cleora with Pastor Stephen Nation officiating. Interment will follow at McLaughlin Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Tinker Air Force Base Honor Guard Detail.
