Langley, Oklahoma, James Anthony Hoyt, 82, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. James was born on February 6, 1930 at Corpus Christi, Texas to Ellenora (Miller) Hoyt and Albert Otto Hoyt. James grew up at St. Elizabeth's Parrish, Arkansas. When James finished school he worked as a carpenter. In 1951 James joined the United States Air Force. He married Rita Gottsponer on July 5, 1954 in Vinita, Oklahoma. The Hoyts lived several places while James served in the Air Force, but called Clovis, New Mexico home for many years. James served in the Viet Nam war in 1967 to 1968; he proudly served his country for 22 years and retired in 1973. The couple moved to Langley in 1981. James was a member of the American Legion, and VFW. He liked to garden, he loved to fish and was an avid bowler when he was younger. James was a member of the St. Francs of Rome Catholic Church in Langley. James was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Rita Hoyt, seven brothers and one sister. James is survived by his eleven children, Donna Lickteig and her husband Gary of Joplin, Missouri, Debora Bryson and her husband Dick of Landis burg, Pennsylvania, Anthony Hoyt of Afton, Oklahoma, Sandra Hidalgo and her husband Mariano of Clovis, New Mexico, Andrea Hoyt and husband Terry Hodges of Gallatin, Tennessee, Jovita Russell and her husband Donnie of Clovis, New Mexico, Richard Hoyt and his wife Lindi of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jeremiah Hoyt and his wife Dana of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Steven Hoyt of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nora Chew and her husband Chad of Langley, Oklahoma, Leslie Hoyt and his wife Heather of Sumter, South Carolina. James is also survived by two sisters Florence Boone of St. Charles, Missouri and Helen Lanini of Peoria, Arizona, one brother Gene Hoyt of Panama City, Florida. James was blessed with twenty grandchildren, Jamie, Brandon, Maria, David, Timmy, Dustin, Seth, Anthony, Teresa, Gloria, Nichole, Stefanie, Jessica, Hanna, Hayden, Andrew, Rachel, Amber, Jake Christina; also twenty our great-grandchildren, Megan, Mackenzie, Lance, Alexander, Tripp, Cash, Daniel, Jonathan, Joshua, Alexis, Jori, Kellen, Ty, Cori, Chloe, Sydnee, Eli, Ryan, Sadie, Garrin, Ethan, Kailyn, Brylee and Kayla. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home in Langley, Okalhoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Langley, Oklahoma.
