James "Jim" Leo Johndrow, a fifty-seven year old Grove, Oklahoma resident passed away at Integris Grove General Hospital on January 14, 2009. Mr. Johndrow was born in Perry, Oklahoma on June 24, 1951 to Robert and Susan (Heppler) Johndrow. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1969. Mr. Johndrow moved to the Grove area in 2005 from Cedar Vale, Kansas where he worked maintenance at the Grand Lake Casino for two years. He loved to fish, cook, and play baseball as a young man. He was an accomplished woodworker who enjoyed making clocks. Jim was preceded in death by his mother Susan Johndrow on August 2, 1978. Survivors include his father and step mother, Robert and Vada Johndrow; one brother, Mark Johndrow and wife Rhonda; four sisters, Sandra Dubach and husband Ron, of Arkansas City, Kansas, Margaret Burlingame and husband Bill of Arma, Kansas, Sharon Neighbors and husband Kevin, and Rebecca Groene and husband Kirk both of Winfield, Kansas; three step-brothers, John Postelwait and wife Linda of Arkansas City, Kansas, Mark Postelwait and wife Carly of Seattle, Washington and Dale Postelwait and wife Sandra of Winfield, Kansas; one stepsister, Carla Courtland and husband Robert of Winfield, Kansas; one step-daughter, Rhonda Swope and husband Russell of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Michelle Townley, and Chelsea Curran both of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, January 23, 2009 at Highland Cemetery, 702 Amos Becker Rd., Winfield, Kansas 67156 with Rev. Gale Rider officiating. The family suggests memorials to Babe Ruth Baseball in Winfield, Kansas.
