James Kelsey

James Donald Kelsey, 60 year old Afton resident died Wednesday August 10, 2011 at his home. He was born February 16 1951 in Claremore, OK the son of Don Kelsey and Eva Dean Still Kelsey. He was raised and educated in Claremore then moved to Vinita, Oklahoma when he was in the eighth grade. James and Gloria Jones were united in marriage on August 4, 1969 and made their home in Afton. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1969 until 1971. Jim went to work for the railroad starting with the Frisco and retiring this year with Burlington Northern as a track inspector after thirty nine years. He loved and enjoyed his family time with the grandkids, playing golf, fishing and playing softball. James leaves behind his wife Gloria of the home, his children, Kenny & Shannon Kelsey, Jamie and Amy Kelsey, Wesley and Sissy Forgey and Pamela Kelsey. Grandchildren include: Ashley, Chandra, Corey, Katie, Miranda, Jared, Bailey and Kailey, his brothers and sister's: Joe & Karen Kelsey of Vinita, Bill & Brenda Kelsey of White Oak, OK, Dean Allen, Abbrina of Afton & Andrea Birks of Vinita, Mark & Barbara Ann Shipe of Colorado Springs, CO and "Radio", his loyal K9 companion. Funeral services will be Monday August 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. the Assembly of God Church in Afton, OK with Greg Hisley officiating. Interment to follow in Sixkiller Cemetery. Visitation on Sunday August 14 at Luginbuel Funeral Home from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
