James Ealum "Jim" Matthews, 63 year old well known Ketchum resident, died early Friday, September 24, 2010 at his home. Jim was born in Vinita, on November 16, 1946, the son of James Ralph and Flora Faye (Gregory) Matthews. On June 1, 1968 he married Brenda Jean Haley, together they raised two children. Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ketchum, a volunteer firefighter, a deputy sheriff for Craig County, city councilman, as well as mayor of the City of Ketchum. He enjoyed shooting guns at the range and building model trains. Survivors include his children; Mandy Walsh and husband Mike of Pryor, and Jarod Matthews and wife Belinda of Vinita; six grandchildren, Mallorie Matthews, Laylah Matthews, Raina Matthews, Joey Hitchcock, Kyle Hitchcock, and Landon Walsh. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita, with Pastor Charlie Kellehan officiating.
