James L. Reavis, 84, of Grove, OK, passed away June 27, 2011 at his home on Grand Lake after a short illness. Mr. Reavis was born June 30, 1926 in Independence, KS to Emmet J. and Bertha M. (Goetze) Reavis. He grew up in Independence, KS, where in 1944 he enlisted in the Army Air Corp. Upon discharge in 1945, he went on to complete his education, graduating in 1950 from the University of Kansas. His career with Farmland Industries spanned 40 years and he retired as the Technical Superintendent of the Coffeyville Refinery in 1990. James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marguerite S. Reavis of the home; 3 children, J.L. Reavis, Jr. of Humble, TX, Daniel J. Reavis of Humble, TX, and Nancy Schurr of Glenwood Springs, CO; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
