James A. Rose, 79 year old Langley resident, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa after an extended illness. He was born December 25, 1932 in Big Flat, Arkansas to J. W. and Zona (Pate) Rose. James was raised in Westville, Oklahoma, where he attended school and graduated from there. After high school he went to work for Amerada Oil Company, he later went into the United States Army during the Korean era, and was stationed in Germany. James became a policeman with the Wichita, Kansas department for 6 years, then became a special agent for the ATF, and lastly as a special agent for the DEA. After retirement from the government, he moved to Tulsa and bought an auto parts store. James moved to Langley where he owned and operated a NAPA Auto Parts Store for 16 years. He also bought a farm where he raised cattle and enjoyed the farm life. His favorite things in life were being around his friends and family, enjoying a slower paced life on the farm, hunting and fishing. The family includes: his wife Linda of the home, daughters, Katherine Rose of Greensboro, Alabama, Lisa Allison of Catoosa, Patricia Osman of Tulsa; grandchildren, Morgan Allison, Jamila Osman; brother, J. W. Rose, Jr. and wife Janell of Irving, Texas, sisters, Sybil Downs of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Julia Tankersley of Tulsa, Patricia Masters and husband Charles W. of Tulsa; brother in-law Jim Deming of Pryor, and sister in-law, Mary Rose of Tyler, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by sisters, Kathleen Benton, Sandra Deming, brothers, Thomas Rose, William Rose and Teddy Rose. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Chapel in Langley. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Langley, with Pastor Joel Rutherford officiating. The graveside service will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Westville Cemetery, in Westville, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home of Langley.
