James Alexander Shoultz, age 84 of Miami, died Friday, June 17, 2011. James was born in Leroy, Alabama on April 15, 1927, the son of James Melton and Lillie Mae (Davis) Shoultz. During WWII, he served in the United States Navy. He was also employed with B. F. Goodrich for 35 years. James enjoyed working in the yard, going to garage sales and auctions, working on the farm, and loving and caring for his family. He was also very active in the American Legion, Boys State, and Funeral Honors Detail. He was a member of the North Miami Baptist Church. Survivors include his children: Steve Shoultz and wife Karen of Miami, Jim Shoultz and wife Lorene of Dewey, and Judy Simmons and husband Bruce of Miami, two brothers: Bobby Shoultz of Coweta and Leonard Shoultz of Tulsa, nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son Gary Shoultz, brothers: Roy and Oliver Shoultz, and special friend Patty Schnarre. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2011 at the First Baptist Church North Miami with Harold Neil and Roy Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
