Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma 918-253-3222.James "Joe" Clarence Tanner, 52 year old lifetime resident of Jay, Oklahoma, passed away on February 9, 2017. James was born on December 1, 1964 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was the son of Buck and Mary Jane Tanner. James worked as a laborer for the poultry industry for several years. He was a member of the Southern Bounty Band. James could play any musical instrument that he picked up. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents Buck and Mary Tanner, eight brothers and sisters; Betty Woffard, Melissa Tanner, Sammy Tanner, Eli Tanner, Bobby Tanner, Richard Stick, Levi Tanner and Jimmy Tanner. He is survived by his two sons; Dalton Tanner of Grove, Evan Tanner of Jay, three daughters Jodi Ann Tanner of Spavinaw, Tamara Tanner of Jay and Cheyenne Tanner of Grove. He will be dearly missed by his two brothers Alan "Tom" Tanner of Jay and David "Ogan" Tanner of Jay, and his sister Mary Tanner-Hamilton of Jay. James was blessed with two grandchildren, Faith and Hunter of Spavinaw. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8PM, Sunday, February 12, 20-17 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday at First Assembly of God in Jay, OK with Brother Stanley Grass officiating. James will be laid to rest at Round Springs Cemetery.
