James Marshall Taylor, 73-year-old Nowata resident, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Taylor was born November 10, 1934 in Oologah to Walter Algernon Taylor and Willa Lee Callaway-Taylor. He grew up and attended high school in Nowata, graduating with the Class of 1954. On December 31, 1954, he married Carlie Darlene Long. She preceded him in death on May 25, 1975. He later married Myrle Crosby on June 14, 1978 in Miami, Oklahoma; she survives of the home. Mr. Taylor served in the National Guard for 14 years and worked as a Master Machinist for Phillips Petroleum until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and bow hunting. Mr. Taylor also spent countless hours reading and watching westerns on television. He was a huge fan of the OU Sooners and the Green Bay Packers. Mr. Taylor also had a special place in his heart for his little dog Penny. However, considering all of his hobbies and activities, the thing that brought Mr. Taylor most enjoyment in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife Myrle of the home; by 5 daughters, Jaimee Gray of the home, Sandra Minnich and husband Gary of Cherryvale, Toni Pena of Oologah, Brianna Gray of Nowata, and Cindy Bever of Tulsa; by 1 son, Steve Taylor of Tulsa; by 1 brother, Robert Taylor of Bartlesville; by 10 grandchildren; and by 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his first wife, by 3 sisters, and by 3 brothers.
