James Waldroup

James "Jim" Wesley Waldroup, 62-year-old Nowata resident, passed away at 12:48a.m., Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the Bartlesville Care Center. James Wesley Waldroup was born January 10, 1944 in Indiana to William and Ann Waldroup. Mr. Waldroup was later adopted and raised by Lloyd and Grace Waldroup. Mr. Waldroup grew up and attended schools in Texas. While living in Texas, Mr. Waldroup worked for the State Highway Department. He married his first wife Vicki and had one child, Jimmy Kent. Mr. Waldroup would later marry his second wife Dorothea on May 26, 1972 and to this union was born a daughter, Michelle. Then on October 16, 1980, Mr. Waldroup married Grace who survives of the home. Mr. Waldroup was a creative and imaginative man who loved to draw. He also spent a lot of time with his mother, Grace. Mr. Waldroup loved the outdoors. He spent a lot of time in his earlier years swimming and fishing. Most recently he had been a regular morning coffee drinker at the Bliss Restaurant and at the Daylight Donut Shop. Mr. Waldroup is survived by his wife, Grace Phillips-Waldroup of the home; by his mother, Grace Martin-Waldroup of Nowata; by a daughter, Michelle Waldroup of Dallas; by a son, Jimmy Kent Neilson of Ponca City; by a step-son, Ernest Dudley of Nowata; by a step-daughter, Ranea Dudley of Nowata; by three brothers; by one sister; by five grandchildren, Taylor and Hunter Neilson of Ponca City, and Shawntel Dudley, Brooke Alford, and Harlene Alford, Jr. all of Nowata; by an aunt, Helen Santee; and by an uncle Ray Martin. Mr. Waldroup was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Waldroup; by four aunts, Virgie Martin, Hadie Rogers, Lucille Littleton, and Faye Duncan; and by two uncles, Sidney Martin and Johnny Martin.
