Jane Jessie Brooks, age 91 of Sapulpa died Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Jane was born on June 28, 1920 in Garfield, Arkansas to Jessie Della and John Henry Burns. She and her seven brothers and sisters were raised near Disney, OK. She married Coney Lee Brooks and they had three children: Leonard Eugene, David Wayne, and Connie LeAnn. Over the years Jane was employed as a clerk by several stores in the Disney area: Hamlin's, Whitlock's Western Auto, and Kelly's. She retired from her housekeeping position at Bovaird Supply before moving to Sapulpa to take on her final and favorite challenge, care for her great-grandchildren, Jessie and Jamison. She was a wonderful cook and loved to quilt and crochet lovely things for her friends and family. She was happiest when caring for her family, teaching children in her church, fishing, and working outside in her flowers and garden. She is preceded in death by her husband, Coney, her two sons: Gene and David Johnson, her parents, Jessie and John Burns, her brothers: Ed McClain, Gene McClain, Henry McClain, Robert Burns, John Burns, and sisters: Lavern Finnell and Myra Grote. She is survived by daughter, Connie Hall of Sapulpa, eight grandchildren: Patrick Rake, Chris Rake, Mike Johnson, Pam Summa, Becky Bittle, John Hall, Megan and Shelley Johnson, twelve great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Ketchum Cemetery.
