Jane Ellen Woods Harwell, age 71, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in Houston, Texas. She was born April 13, 1936 in Bartlesville, the daughter of Searles Grant and Bertha Beeson Grant. Jane was reared and received her formal education in the Bartlesville area graduating from Ochelata High School. She continued her education and became a Medical Technologist and worked in Chicago in the fifties and in Houston in the sixties and thereafter. She married Bill Harwell in Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1971. She worked for Prudential Insurance in their medical lab before transferring to the insurance division. She later moved to American General Insurance and worked there until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Houston, enjoyed arts and crafts, and was involved in crafting at the Community Center in Houston. She is survived by her husband William H. "Bill" Harwell of the home, a son, James Dewayne Woods and his wife Annette of Dewey, OK, three brothers, Marvin and Bessie Grant of Bartlesville, Searles "Jick" and Janet Grant of Ochelata, OK, Anthony Curtis Sydebotham and wife Marjorie of Ochelata, OK, grandsons, Jake Woods of Houston, TX, Jeffery and Angel Rachele Woods of Grove, OK, great grandsons: Stevon Carlos J. Woods of Houston, TX, Kelton J. Woods of Grove, OK, Great Grand daughter; Kelby Rachele Woods of Grove, OK and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services will be Monday, August 13, 2007 at the Colonial Chapel in the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Joe Dan Fowler officiating with entombment to follow in the White Rose Mausoleum under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral home. Memorials have been established for those who would like to make a donation in Jane's name in care of the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center 1515 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77030.
