Janell Lindsay, Grove resident, died at home Wednesday evening January 19, 2011 at the age of 73 years. She was born on May 21, 1937 in Stamps, Arkansas to her parents, Ovlen and Floy Mae (Ellis) Tatom. Janell attended the Stamps schools and graduated as a member of the class of 1955. Janell married the love of her life, Don Lindsay, on July 14, 1967 in Texarkana, Texas and they celebrated 43 wonderful years of marriage together. Janell started her 42 year career with State Farm Insurance in Texarkana, Texas working for the local State Farm Insurance agency until Don and Janell moved to Oklahoma. She continued to work for State Farm Insurance Agency in Tulsa and Claremore until her retirement in 1996. They lived in Texarkana for 5 years, moving to Claremore, where they lived for 20 years, and the last 19 years they have called Grove their home. Janell was a member of the Elk River Baptist Church since 1992, she loved to cook, fish, and study the bible. She preceded in death by her parents. Janell leaves many loving memories with her family, husband Don; daughter, Kim Jekel and husband John of Edmond; son, Wes Lindsay of Grove; granddaughter, Jamie Jekel of Edmond, Grandson, Adam Jekel of Tulsa; numerous other loving family members and a host of friends. A Service celebrating Janell's life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday January 23, 2011 at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Hester officiating. Visitation will immediately follow until 4:00 PM. A Private family burial will be held Monday. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
