Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261. Jay Grover Shobe, age 88, passed away on May 18, 2017 at his home in Tiff City, Missouri. Jay was born on October 1, 1928 in Maysville, Arkansas. He was the son of Dudley Clayton and Hazel (Pritchard) Shobe. Jay proudly served in the United States Army. He married the love of his life Loretta Mae Burleson on June 13, 1953. They owned and operated the Shobe Service Station in Tiff City for over thirty years. Jay's fondest memories came from spending time on his farm, helping values grow strong and from passing that tradition on. Jay was preceded in death by his parents Dudley and Hazel Shobe, one brother Marvin Shobe and a sister Adaline Glover. He leaves behind his wife of 63 years Loretta Mae Shobe of the home, two children; William Clayton Shobe of Tiff City, Missouri and Douglas Shobe and his wife Ella of Grove, one sister Winnilee Brown of Florida. Jay was blessed with four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A visitation will be held for family and friends at 5:00 pm, Friday, May 19, 2017, with services starting at 6:00 pm, both at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma with Brother Danny Burleson officiating. Jay will be laid to rest in the Olympus Cemetery located east of Grove. Online condolences can be made by viewing Jay's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com.
