Jean Cass

Jean Marie Cass, age 83 of Vinita, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013. Jean was born in St. Charles, Missouri on August 19, 1929 to Walter and Lucille (Tayon) Galvin. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Vinita. In 1950 she was united in marriage to Lewis Cass. Jean was employed with Eastern State Hospital 15 years, was a manager at McClelland's, but her favorite job was being a mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed fishing and feeding and watching birds. Survivors include her son Michael "Mike" Cass and wife Judy of Vinita, grandchildren: Justin Barnes and wife Andrea, Jerrod Barnes and wife Danielle, Jeff Barnes and wife Stephanie, Nowa Cass and fiancé Terry Latta, Lindsey Johnston and husband Brad, Jason Weaver and wife Andrea, 18 great grandchildren, siblings: Sister Bernie Galvin of St. Charles, MO, Mike Galvin of Vinita, Helen Minson of Vinita, Pete Galvin of Catoosa, Sharon Lechlider of Vinita, Tim Galvin of Vinita, Frances Teal of Verdigris, Ethel McDorman of Tulsa, and Mary Rains of Vinita, as well as numerous other family members and friends.. She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Lucille Galvin, husband Lewis Cass, grandson Lewis Michael Cass, daughter Pauline Cass Barnes.siblings: Walter "Pat" Galvin, Doris Simmons, Kathy Taylor, and Agnes Forbis. Graveside services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m., March 29, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Robert Sanders officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
