Jeannie Kay (Brown) Chaney, 42 year old Vinita resident, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Jeannie was born in Vinita on June 17, 1971 to Webb and Emogene (Powell) Brown. On February 14, 2008 she was united in marriage to Chris Chaney. Jeannie worked as a postmaster for several local post offices but was recently with the Grove Post Office. Her hobbies included singing, shopping, scrapbooking, camping, gardening, canning, and cooking. She also enjoyed spending time with her family especially her granddaughter. Survivors include her husband Chris Chaney of the home, mother Emogene (Powell) Brown of Vinita, children: Shaya Emerson of Miami, Cordell Goins of the home, Rhett Goins of the home, Kasey Chaney of Tahlequah and Madison Chaney of the home, sister Vaneesa (Powell) McCrary and husband Dennis of Highland Village, TX, brother Aaron Brown and wife Wendy of Vinita, and granddaughter Stella Kay Teeter. She is preceded in death by her father Webb Brown. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Vinita, with pastors Ken Bailey and Skip McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Adair Cemetery.
