Jefferson Peter Luginbuel Jr., 62, of Denver, Colorado passed away November 16, 2008 at Rose Medical Center. Jeff was born June 19, 1946 in Vinita, OK. He was the son of the Jefferson and Ruth Caldwell Luginbuel, also from Vinita, OK. He was survived by his wife Trudy Insalaco-Luginbuel. Jeff graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Management. He served in the United States Air Force from November 1965 through February 1969 and served one tour in South Vietnam. He was honorably discharged from McCord AFB, Tacoma, WA. Jeff worked as a radio disc jockey under the name "Jeff Peters" for KHOW, KLZ, KYGO and KERE. Jeff then worked for Frontier Airlines. While earning a Masters of Science Degree from Webster University, he began working for the United States Federal government. His last position was in public relations for the Veterans Affairs' Area Distribution Center, Department of Veterans Affairs. Jeff was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He served veterans and their families through his volunteer service with the American Legion, serving in various leadership capacities including, National Vice Commander, National Executive Committeeman, State Commander and Post Commander. He was also a board member and director for the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Denver. Visitation will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, November 18 & 19th, 4-7 PM and Funeral Service Thursday, November 20th at 4PM, all to be held at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. Denver, CO 80246. The committal service will take place Friday, November 21st at 10:30 AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "C".
