Jefferson "Coonie" Studey, age 75, passed away the day after Christmas at Integris Grove General Hospital. Lifetime resident of Delaware County, Coonie was born on April 6, 1938 in Eucha and was the son of the late Henry and Jennie (Tanner) Studey. Coonie enjoyed fishing, woodworking, making bird houses and tinkering around and building things. He was a member of the Round Springs Baptist Church. Coonie was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ruth Goins; son, Roger Dale Pigeon; son, Jeffrey Chunestudey and daughter, Cheryl Lynn. He is survived by his son, Darrell Chunestudey, special friend, Iva Blossom, two nieces, Julie Hutchison and her husband Robert and Deneen Hudson; nephews, Wayne Goins and Casey King and Norman Roberts, Kevin Backward, Greg Backward and Emily Moore, Brian Chunestudey; sisters, Kathy Backward and Alice Beaver and husband, Isaac. He was blessed with numerous grandchildren, and many other loving family members including close cousin, Bertha Teague. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Faith Mission Church in Jay, Oklahoma with Pastor Chester Crittenden officiating.
