ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK - Jennifer Spurrier Bergin, age 65 and resident of Kingwood, Texas peacefully entered into eternal life at Kingwood Medical Center with her loved ones at her side on August 15, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John David Bergin, and her sister, Kay Winston, who lives in Edmond, Oklahoma. Jennifer "Jenny" was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She graduated in 1969 from Okmulgee High School. After graduation, she attended The University of Oklahoma graduating in May 1973 with a degree in education. Upon graduation, she accepted a teaching position in the Bartlesville, Oklahoma area. In 1977, Jenny and her husband, David, moved to Kingwood. After the move to Texas, she attended Sam Houston State University where she received a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling. She worked at New Caney High School as a Guidance Counselor for several years. She then decided to work as a therapist in psychiatric hospitals. She worked at Charter Hospital in Kingwood for four years and was in charge of the children's unit. In 1992, she accepted a position with Champion Treatment Center where she was also in charge of the children's unit. While in this position she was responsible for starting a new hospital day program. In 2001, she accepted a position with the DePelchin Children's Center. Jenny was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived, not only by her husband and sister, but by her brother-in-law, Bruce Winston of Edmond; a niece, Kimberly Paylor of Arlington, Texas; and a nephew, Kyle Winston of Edmond. Please note that your gift is in memory of Jennifer Bergin. Visitation for Jenny will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave., Bartlesville. The family will be present to receive visitors from 6-8:00 PM. A graveside funeral service will be celebrated at Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday at 2:00 PM. Pastor Kim Hames will be the officiant. Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
