Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261. Jerry Lee Rose, age 72, of Jay, Oklahoma , passed away on July 17, 2016. He leaves behind his wife of almost 56 years, Virginia M. Rose, a son, Kevin L. Rose and a daughter, Kimberly Y. Rose. He has 2 grandchildren, Caitlyn J. Rose and Jonathan C. Rose; 2 brothers, Robert D. Fitzgerald and Jimmie E. Rose, and a sister, Penny J. Brown. He has many nieces and nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie A. Chase, father, Earl V. Rose, and 2 brothers, Donald E. Fitzgerald and Ronald L. Fitzgerald. Jerry was born in Topeka, Kansas and spent 21 years in the U.S. Navy. He saw much of the world while serving our country and is a Vietnam Veteran. He inspired so many people, touched so many lives and always put everyone else first. His life and integrity were a true testament of dignity and honor throughout his life. His strength and resolve were a true inspiration to anyone who met him and he left a life-long impression on every life he touched. Dishonor was not in his vocabulary, nor was it seen in any facet of how he lived his life. He left such an impression on so many people and his love and strength will forever be interwoven in everything he did and everyone he touched. He tackled anything and everything that came his way and did it with amazing strength and resolve. A true example of what a great man should be, that was Jerry. If you ever need peace of mind or resolve in your heart, please always remember Jerry's favorite saying, "It is what it is." Upon Jerry's request, there will be no funeral services but his wish was to have a visitation for family and friends. Cremation will follow, per Jerry's wishes. Visitation will be at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, 711 S. Main St. in Grove, OK on July 21, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Notes of encouragement for the family may be left at www.honoringmemories.com
