Jessica Markel

Jessica Markel, age 22, of Bartlesville, formally from Vinita died Tuesday July 28, 2009 at her home in Bartlesville. Jessica was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on June 6, 1987 the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Redwine) Markel. The family moved to Vinita from Lodgepole, NE in 1993. A 2005 Vinita High School graduate she continued her studies at Northeastern State University at Tahlequah. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Holy Ghost Catholic Church while in Vinita. She moved to Bartlesville in 2008 and was the assistant manager of The Buckle. She loved animals and enjoyed shopping, hanging out with her friends, swimming and water skiing, cooking and crocheting. She is survived by her parents, Nancy Markel of Oologah, OK, her father and step mother, Robert and Brenda Markel of White Oak, OK, a brother, Matt and Amanda Markel of Oologah, and sister Jennifer and Andy Michael of Vinita, her grandmother, Ruby Redwine of White, Oak, OK and Mary Beckman of Augusta, GA, three nephews, Braedyn Markel, Newley Michael and Levi Michael, also numerous aunts uncles and cousins and her cherished bulldog Gracie. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Bud and Jeanne Markel, Frank Redwine and George Beckman. Funeral services will be Tuesday August 4, 2009 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Alex Kennedy officiating with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Rosary services will be Monday August 3, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home with visitation to follow. Online condolences may be left at honoringmemories.com.
