Jessie Mae Moore, 84, a longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma died Saturday, October 20, 2012 in San Augustine, Texas. Jessie Mae Langan was born June 1, 1928 in Bristow, Oklahoma daughter of Thomas Amos and Grace Mary (Stingley) Langan. She was united in marriage to Wilburn Franklin Shook. Together, they were blessed with five children: Joe, Debbie, Mike, Carolyn and Wildon. Following the death of her husband Wilburn, Jessie was fortunate enough to find a second love in Ernie Moore. They were eventually married and enjoyed several years together before Ernie passed away. Jessie worked as a beautician for nearly 20 years, as she raised her children. Later, she was employed by Jane Phillips Medical Center where she worked as a Patient Care Technician for 28 years, retiring in 2003. Jessie was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Bartlesville and enjoyed volunteering by serving families, during their time of loss, through funeral dinners. She also volunteered in fundraising efforts for the March of Dimes. Jessie enjoyed camping, gardening and antiquing. She also enjoyed horseback riding and boarded horses for nearly 20 years. For a time, she belonged to a singles' club where she learned and enjoyed square dancing. Mostly, Jessie enjoyed her family and spending time together during holidays. The family will always remember her wonderfully decorated home, especially those special touches for the holidays. Jessie was preceded in death by: her parents; several brothers and sisters; her first husband, Wilburn Franklin Shook; second husband, Ernie Moore; daughter, Carolyn Shook; son, Wildon Shook and grandson, Preston Shook. She is survived by: three children: son, Joe Shook of Hemphill, TX; daughter, Debbie Shook-Hippler of San Augustine, TX and son, Mike Shook of Pawhuska; one sister, Margaret Riley of Sand Springs, OK; five grandchildren: Jake Ware of Baytown, TX; Samantha Burrow of Bronson, TX; Taunja Shook of Omaha, NE; Shauna Shook of Omaha, NE and Brian May of Ponca City; 7 great grandchildren with one on the way and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
