Mrs. Poindexter grew up and attended schools in Lenapah. On November 26, 1930 she married Jess Mark Poindexter in Nowata. They left Lenapah as work in the oil fields took them to Hobbs, New Mexico and later to Anadarko, Blackwell, Tonkawa, and Oklahoma City, then back to the Nowata area. At each town they lived in, Mrs. Poindexter was active in the Women's Missionary Council. She served as President of many of these groups as well. Mrs. Poindexter taught Sunday School Classes and was an excellent housekeeper. She even recently taught several of the grandchildren her secret to the perfect noodles. Mrs. Poindexter loved to shop and was very meticulous about her appearance. She loved to fish for Crappie, but as long as she was in the outdoors, she was happy fishing for anything. Mrs. Poindexter had recently been residing at a retirement home in Bethany where she had been very active helping the Hospice groups make crafts and presiding over several activities with other residents. At the age of 95, she surprised friends and family when she took a ride on "The Clock" at Chuckie Cheese.
