Jimmie Allen Newton, 75 year old Ketchum resident, died Saturday, October 22, 2011. Jimmie was born on January 30, 1936 in Anadarko, OK, the son of Ural and Cleo (Marquis) Newton. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and music, but most of all loved spending time with his family. Jimmie also loved the Lord. He was an ordained minister, a member of the Home style Gospel Group, and a member of the Ketchum First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Lawanda Newton of the home, children: Vicki VanScoder and husband Doyle of Anadarko, OK, Steve Newton, Sr. and wife Debra of Cyril, OK, Jimmy Newton and wife Robin of Vinita, OK, Rodger Smith of Hopkinsville, KY, and April Smith of Tulsa, OK, brothers: Patrick Newton and wife Colleen of Elgin, OK and Jerry Newton and wife Karen of Oklahoma City, OK, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Ural and Cleo Newton, children Cleve and Kathy Newton, and siblings Billie Jo Baggett, Bob Newton, David Newton, and Dorothy Layton. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Ketchum First Baptist Church with pastors Kevin Lancaster and Bill Busch officiating. Interment will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Fort Cobb Cemetery, Fort Cobb, OK. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
