Jimmie Watkins

Jimmie Roger Watkins age 77, died on Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma. Jimmie was the son of Bud and Hazel (Seabourn) Watkins. He was born on October 25, 1933 in the Butler Community in Delaware County, Oklahoma. Jimmie proudly served in the United States Army. Jimmie worked his farm, he had done construction, worked for Commercial Metals as well as Northrup Aircraft. Jimmie loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, visiting friends and relatives, gardening, and just helping people in general. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Eddie Watkins. Jimmie is survived by his sister Ronda Thomas and her husband Jimmie of North Richland Hills, Texas, and his uncles and aunts Robert Dummitt, Bennie Watkins, Mary Johnson and Dolly Drawbaugh. Jimmie was blessed with a host of cousins and other dear family and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Butler Baptist Church with Reverend Charlie Smith officiating. Jimmie will be laid to rest in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Missouri. Memorial donations can be made in Jimmies name to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Foundation.
