Jimmye L. McKeon, 82, wife of Chester McKeon and long-time resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Jimmye Lou Dobkins was born on March 3, 1929 in Welch, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of James Auburn Dobkins and Ola Inez (Neill) Dobkins. She was raised in the Welch community where she received her early education. She furthered her education by attending the University of Arkansas, graduating with a degree in Physical Education. She then attended the University of Oklahoma where she received an MBA. Jimmye and Chester McKeon were united in marriage on January 31, 1953 in the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They made their home in Bartlesville where Mr. McKeon was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company. Mr. McKeon retired from the local company in 1985 and Jimmye and Chet had continued their residence in Bartlesville after retirement. Jimmye was an exceptional wife, mother and homemaker. She was very active in the Bartlesville community. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bartlesville; Daughters of America Revolution (DAR); Tuesday Club; Church Women United; International Women; and Nellie Johnstone Questers. Jimmye enjoyed traveling, genealogy, counted cross stitch and Community Concert. She was preceded in death by her father, James Dobkins, her sister, Genevive Phillips and her mother, Ola Inez Dobkins. She is survived by her husband, Chester McKeon of the family home; children, Cener Ann Clary of Bartlesville, Winston McKeon of Welch, R. Clark McKeon of Welch, Polly Abernathy of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Nancy Bueb of Tulsa.; grandchildren, Allison, Cori, Dalton, Jonathan, Emma, Vincent, Austin, Chandler, Logan, Hiedi, Gabriel, Lacy and Derrick; and 15 great-grandchildren. Johnstone, Bartlesville, OK 74003. (Please write on the check, "In memory of Jimmye McKeon".) Viewing and Visitation will occur on Wednesday evening, 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., in the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave., Bartlesville. Funeral services for Jimmye will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 29, in the First United Methodist Church, 500 S. Johnstone, Bartlesville. The officiant will be Dr. Kevin Tully. Interment will be held on Friday, September 30, at 11:00 a.m. in the Goshen Cemetery, Goshen, Arkansas.
