Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555 ---- Joanne M. Morris 74 year old Coweta resident, passed away early Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Post-Acute Medical Specialty Hospital of Tulsa. She was born on November 7, 1939 in Mayes County to Raymond and Bernice (Thompson) Harrison. Joanne was a graduate of Ketchum High School 1957, and also Northeastern State University in Tahlequah in 1961. She married Ronald Morris in 1960 at Otterbein Methodist Church, and had just celebrated 54 years of marriage. Joanne taught private piano lessons for over 25 years, and worked 18 years for the Internal Revenue Service in the audit division, retiring in 2005. They had lived in Tulsa for many years, also Norman and Houston, before they moved to Coweta. Joanne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow. She enjoyed shopping, music, reading, crossword puzzles, cooking and being with her family. Joanne was also an avid Oklahoma Sooner Football Fan, as well as all Sooner Sports Teams. The family includes: her husband, Ronald Morris of the home; children Jeff Morris and wife Nicole of Dallas, Doug Morris and wife Jessica of Tulsa; a grandson, Noah Morris of Tulsa; and a brother David Harrison Langley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Her parents preceded her in death. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 1:00 PM, at the Otterbein Methodist Church near Langley. Interment will follow at the Military Cemetery, one mile west of Otterbein Methodist Church. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
