Joe Brown

Joe E. Brown, 82 of Disney, passed away Friday, March 16, 2007 at Jane Phillips Memorial Hospital in Bartlesville. He was born on Feb. 10, 1925 in Sallisaw, OK to James McNeil and Queenie (Duffield) Brown. Joe was a real estate developer and a Loving Father. The family moved to Pryor, OK in the late 1920's and then to Disney in the 1930's. Joe graduated from Jay High School and the attended Oklahoma State A & M in Stillwater. Joe became a Christian at a Youth Revival held during his college days. Joe was an amateur boxer and enjoyed flying his airplane. Prior to starting his real estate business, he owned a car dealership in Disney. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers; Lawrence Brown, Carl Brown and James McNeil Brown, Jr. Joe married Margaret Brown and had one daughter, Beverly. Joe later married Joyce Akin and had one daughter, Malinda. Beverly and her husband, Stan Jones live in Grove. Malinda and her husband Del Clark live in Bartlesville. Five grandchildren also survive Joe; Malisha Brown-Edwards, Melody Brown Clark, Laura Jones Dishman, Michelle Jones Moore and Susanna Jones Conaway. Five Great Grandchildren; Gracie Dishman, Grant Dishman, Miley Moore, Hattie Moore and Brynna Conaway. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2007 in the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home of Langley. Pastor Joel Rutherford will officiate. Burial will be in the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery. Casket bearers will be; Gary Akin, Bobby Hendren, Charles Melton, John Wickham, Stan Jones and Del Clark Services are under the direction of Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home of Langley.
