Joe Schwartz

Joe Dale Schwartz died on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Joe was born on February 3, 1934 in Vinita, Oklahoma. He was the son of Albert and Esther Schwartz. Joe attended Pheasant Hill School thru the 8th grade, and graduated high school from Bluejacket in 1951. Joe served in the United States Navy from 1951 - 1954, he was stationed on the ship USS Valley Forge as a seaman. Joe was united in marriage to Betty Jeanne Irwin on December 23, 1953 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Vinita, Oklahoma. He was employed by B.F. Goodrich in Miami from 1955 until its closing in 1986. In 1985, Joe married Jeane Morrison; she preceded Joe in death in March of 96. Joe also worked at the Parson's Ammo Plant from 86-87, then General Tires from 87-93, then moved to Florida and returned to Oklahoma in 2006. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Sister Loyce Anderson of Miami, Oklahoma and Sue Lay of Vinita, Oklahoma. Joe is survived by his two daughters Jody Powers and her husband Gary of Monkey Island, Oklahoma and Mary Ann Forrest and her husband Ron of Checotah, Oklahoma. Also four brothers; Buddy Schwartz of Mesquite, Texas, Johnny Schwartz and his wife Mona Sue of Vinita, Oklahoma, George Schwartz and his wife Mary Jo of Mustang, Oklahoma and Larry Schwartz and his wife Scarlet of Rome, Georgia. Joe was also blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made in Joe's name to any local Hospice.
