Mr. Joe W. Wilcox, age 93 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 in the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville. Joe Woodrow Wilcox was born on November 12, 1918 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of Gladys Hawkins. Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army where he proudly served his Country until his Honorable Discharge in 1943. Joe was married to Harriet Keller on September 13, 1969 in Bartlesville. He was employed as a warehouseman in the shipping department of the TRW Company. Joe was a member of Silver Lake Baptist Church in Bartlesville. As a young man, he served as Chaplain for the Salvation Army. He was also president of the Bartlesville Saddle Club in the early 60s. He enjoyed traveling, visiting with people and meeting new friends. Joe was preceded in death by his mother; sister, Oneida Wilcox; daughter, Lynette Friend; and stepdaughter and her husband, Freda and Eugene Witt. Survivors include his wife, Harriet Lorene Wilcox of the family home; step-daughter, Elizabeth Ralston and her husband, John, of Bartlesville; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Services will be held on Thursday, October 4, at 11:00 a.m., in the Silver Lake Baptist Church, Bartlesville. Rev. Ralph Stafford will be the officiant. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Salvation Army, Bartlesville, c/o Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
