Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, Oklahoma 918-256-5555.....Marine Corporal John David Courthon, 47, passed away peacefully Friday, June 8, 2018, in his home in Orange Park, Fla. John was born September 15, 1970 in Muskogee, Okla. to Louis Courthon and Mary Moore. John graduated in 1988 from Vinita High School. After high school, John enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he served in Desert Storm. After leaving the Marine Corps, he settled in Orange Park, Fla., working in the field of security surveillance. John was a dedicated and loving single parent, and left behind his 12-year-old son, John David Courthon II. John is also survived by his mother, Mary Moore of Vinita; his father Louis Courthon of Chelsea, Okla.; 2 sisters, Dawn Johnston and Tina O'Donoghue, both of Vinita; 2 nieces, April Stamper and husband Stoney Stamper of Whitehouse, Texas, Rachel Banning and husband Brandan Banning of Vinita, Okla.; 2 nephews, Geoffrey O'Donoghue and wife Kara O'Donoghue, Johnathan O'Donoghue and wife Melissa O'Donoghue of Florida; and many other cherished family members. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, at 10:30 am at Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita, Okla., followed by a military graveside service at the Ketchum cemetery.
