John Arnold Inman Memorial services for John Inman will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at the Colonial Chapel, Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata. The family suggests donations to the American Legion. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com John Arnold Inman was born September 12, 1924, in Nowata County, Oklahoma to Louis Marion and Dora Marina (Walton) Inman. He passed from this life Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. John graduated from Nowata High School. He served his country during WWII, in the United State Army Air Corps. He was very proud of his military service and the fact that at age 22, he was the youngest ever to be promoted to Master Sergeant. His service took him to several overseas stations including Guam, and Brazil. He was a member of the American Legion. On February 15, 1992, he married Gretchen Alyce Butts in Bartlesville. John enjoyed sports. The Oklahoma Sooners and the Saint Louis Cardinals were his favorite teams. He also liked to travel. He had many friends and will be missed by all who knew him. Preceding Mr. Inman in death are his parents, Louis and Dora Inman, and a brother Charles Inman. Survivors include his wife Gretchen, eight children, Richard Inman, of El Paso, Texas, Matilda Inman, of Houston, Texas, Kathryn Inman, of Richardson, Texas, Felice Richardson, of El Paso, Texas, Mark Inman, of Midland, Texas, Joan Hickey, of San Marcos, Texas, Eric Inman, of Texas, and Alex Inman, of Houston, Texas, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters, Louise O'Connor of Bartlesville, Ila Heape, of Chelsea, many other relatives and a host of friends.
