Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home - Langley - 918-782-4400..... John Edward Jeffers, 85 year old Langley resident, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017. John was born in Pineville, MO on January 6, 1932 to Chester and Nadine (Goodnight) Jeffers. At the age of 14 he was saved and baptized in Grand River. On April 26, 1952 he was united in marriage to Juanita "Dee Dee" Griffin and together they raised 3 children. John was a very hard working man. He was employed with GRDA for 47 years, he was instrumental in forming the Langley Volunteer Fire Department, and along with these things he worked as a cattle rancher as well. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner, enjoyed woodworking, watching football, hunting, and enjoying the great outdoors. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Dee Dee Jeffers of the home, daughter Jennifer Jeffers of Langley, son Lee Aaron "Boo" Jeffers of Sportsman Shores, six grandchildren: Jeffery Jeffers, Samantha Jackson and husband Teddy, Jasmine Jeffers, Jared Jeffers and wife Kasidy, Jessica Williams and husband Brad, and Jordan Jeffers and wife Jennifer, 4 great grandchildren: Jensen and Micah Jeffers and Preston and Jackson Williams, as well as sister-in-law Jenell Wehrli, daughter-in-law Linda Wood, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle who raised him Lula and John Stewart, and one son Stewart Edward Jeffers. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home in Langley. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Langley First Baptist Church with Pastor Davies Vanpool officiating. Interment will follow at Ghormley Cemetery.
