John William Lawson, 77, a resident of Kansas, Oklahoma passed away at the Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas on Friday, June 1, 2007. Mr. Lawson was born on October 18, 1929 in Oklahoma City, OK to James E. Lawson Sr. and Sarah Ellen (Miller) Lawson. He married Saletha Kays on February 27, 1962 in Oklahoma City, OK. He worked at many different trades from driving truck, painting houses, being a mechanic, laying brick, an electrician and an inspector for Brand Rex. He liked to put models together work with wood, go hunting, camping, and boating, read, bake pies for the family. He used to drive the van to haul the band to their events in Kansas, was the assistant scout master for the boy scouts was a member of the Salvation Army. His parents James and Sarah Lawson both preceded John in death along with a son John W. Lawson Jr. in January of 2007 and a sister Mary Ellen Lawson. Survivors include his wife Saletha Lawson of the home, Carrie L. Kemp, Tom L. Lawson, Robert D. Lawson, Donald G. Lawson, and Ron D. Lawson, all of Oklahoma City, Cynthia A. Majors of Guthrie, OK, James S. Lawson, Sr., Richard D. Lawson and Mary K. Race of Kansas, OK, Forty-three grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren. A brother James Edward Lawson Jr. of Moore, OK. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at the Kansas Cemetery in Kansas, Oklahoma. There will be an open viewing on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.
