ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK - John Glenn Maples, Sr., age 84 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 24, 2016. John Glenn Maples was born on April 16, 1931. He was the son of Albert Maples and Hazel (Spears) Maples. He grew up in Wisconsin. After his formal schooling, he worked in California and Fenton, Missouri for the Chrysler Corporation, as an Assembly Line and Paint man. He retired in April of 1972. In 1947, John became a member of the U.S. Army. Upon receipt of his honorable discharge, he worked for Chrysler Corporation in California before being transferred to Missouri. John and the former Eunita Robinson Sanders were united in marriage on July 5, 1984 in Rolla, Missouri. In 2003, John and Eunita moved from their farm in Salem, Missouri to Bartlesville where they have remained since that time. John was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dewey, Oklahoma, and was a member of the UAW, Local #466. He enjoyed trout fishing, rebuilt classic cars as a young man and enjoyed the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Joseph and Floyd. He is survived by his wife, Eunita, of the family home; one son, John Maples, Jr. and his wife, Chaye, of Bartlesville; and one granddaughter, Kayleigh Maples. Private family services will be held at a later date.
