John Mccormick

John Timothy "Mac" McCormick, 73 year old Afton (The Coves) resident, died from injuries received in an automobile accident on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 near Adair. He was born November 27, 1938 in Tulsa to John and Nettie (Jackson) McCormick. Mac graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, and then served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He owned and operated "Mac's Tire" in Tulsa many years. Mac moved from Tulsa and had lived in the lake area for the past 20 years. He attended the Cleora Methodist Church, was an avid golfer, quail hunter, fisherman, music lover, great cook (prime rib was his specialty), most of all he loved people. The family includes: his son Mike McCormick and wife Renee of Adair, daughter, Cathy McCormick of Altus; two sisters, Judy Haney and husband James of Tulsa, Patty Glover of Tulsa; granddaughter, Michaelynn McCormick; nephews, Todd Guinn, Steve Haney, nieces, Karen Layton, Terri Guinn and great nephews, Cody and Levi. He was preceded in death by his mother Nettie McCormick, father John McCormick and step-mother Leona McCormick. The memorial service will be held, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cleora United Methodist Church, with Rev. Todd Guinn and Rev. Richard Whetsell officiating.
