John Murphy

John Nixon Murphy, age 67, a lifetime resident of Vinita died Monday April 14, 2008 in the Claremore Indian Hospital. He was born August 27, 1940 in Vinita the son of Minor Wesley Murphy and Clora M. Calbert Murphy. John was worked for many years as a auto mechanic and body man. He also worked for several years for Chase Heating and Air. John and Catherine "Lucille" Douglas were united in marriage on May 1, 1965 in Vinita, OK. He was a member of the NEO CB club and enjoyed restoring old car's, gardening, yard work and fishing, but mostly spending time with family and friends and helping other people. John is survived by his wife Lucille of the home, one son, Keith Murphy of Vinita, three sisters, Juanita Bridgman of Big Cabin, OK, Twyla McGinnis of Nowata, OK, and Lee Cauthon of Coweta, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Kathy Lynn Murthy. Funeral Services will be Thursday April 17, 2008 at the First Freewill Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Justin Turner officiating.
