Mr. John Paul Overton, 93 years old, died Saturday August 15, 2009 at Medicalodge of Dewey. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Overton will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. David Hammonds will preside over the services. Funeral services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. A memorial has been established with the Oklahoma-Arkansas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 6465 S. Yale Ave. #312, Tulsa, Ok 74136 or to the charity of choice. John Paul Overton was born in Cassville, Missouri, October 15, 1915, the son of Porter Abdon Overton and Anna Laura (Zuspann) Overton. He attended high school in Exeter, Missouri and college in Joplin Missouri. John was united in marriage with Nancy Nelle Lindley on October 15, 1938. Nancy preceded him in death on January 12, 1977. John worked with Tri-State Motor Transport in Joplin, Missouri. Then with J.S. Bache and Co. and E.I. Du Pont De Nemours before starting work with H.C. Price Co. as Mr. Prices Personal Secretary and Treasurer before his retirement. John then married Frances Evelyn Hettinger on Jan 20, 1982 and she preceded him in death on August 11, 2007. Mr. Overton is survived by one son Phillip Overton of Albuquerque, New Mexico. John is preceded in death by his Parents, his two wives's, one brother Albert Cecil Overton and his wife Dorothy Overton and one sister Ruby Mae Overton.
